Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Quarter-tone Guitar is a guitar app published by Digital Strings, for iPhone, iPad and Mac. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

Short version

Quarter-tone Guitar sends nothing anywhere. Your guitar's sound is processed on your device, as you play, and never recorded, stored or sent. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Your guitar's sound

The app listens to the input you choose (an audio interface, or the device's microphone) only while you have turned Input on, and asks for the microphone at that moment, never at launch. The sound is shifted and played back on the device in real time; it is not recorded, kept or uploaded.

What Quarter-tone Guitar stores

Your scales, your settings, the NAM model files you choose and the list of Audio Units on your device, all on your device. It has no account system and makes no requests to our servers.

Audio Units from other makers

The Audio Units you add after the shifter are other makers' software, running inside the app under their own privacy policies.

Children's privacy

Quarter-tone Guitar does not collect data from anyone, including children.
